The Sun-Kissed Earth

I am broadening my horizons and sharing some poetry with you all today. Enjoy!

Sometimes the sun kisses the Earth

And fireworks erupt across the sky.

The vast colors, painted amongst the clouds,

As the sun slides slowly beyond the horizon.

It’s like the grand finale for the day,

And a warm welcoming to the night.

Then as the night grows darker,

Out comes the moon; the sun’s partner,

The moon glows with the light of the sun,

A reminder that even that which we can’t see

Still exists in some form just beyond our reach,

A comforting illumination and twinkling of stars

As if to say, “You are not alone, and tomorrow will shine again”
